What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness. A hypnotic state can best be thought of as a condition similar to sleep. Yet it is not sleep nor are you ever unconscious.
It can be compared to a pleasant dreamlike state where a person is partially withdrawn from reality and yet fully aware of what is happening.
Hypnosis works through the power of positive suggestions. If you think about it, everyday life is full of direct and indirect suggestions and we all respond in some way to them. In a hypnotic state the unconscious is more receptive to suggestions and will more readily act on them.
